Life’s 4 Living supports pregnant women during their 3rd semester and during the first 3 months after delivery to relax and distress. Our efforts are particularly focused on single parents, women who have had a traumatic pregnancy or women who are suffering from post-natal depression.

Our aims are:

  • To provide effective relaxation techniques for mothers-2-be, that can be used as preparation for birth and during labour.
  • To provide emotional support and positive life/health-education for mothers-2-be and new mothers, to support them through this major life-change
  • To minimise the effects of post and pre-natal depression
  • To provide a positive, caring and social environment for women. A place where they can come as often as they like, to help them to learn about, and adjust to the entirely new world of motherhood.

All mums understand the importance of relaxation, emotional preparation and looking after health/wellbeing during the lead up to, and after childbirth. Relaxation can not only help you with an easier birth, but can also have an impact on the emotional health of your new born baby, and can speed up both your physical and emotional recovery after giving birth. Most mid-wives and GP’s support the use of relaxation techniques as a form of birth preparation and recovery.

If you’re a mum 2 be, looking for ways to relax and prepare yourself for possibly the biggest life change you will ever have, please come and see us. We offer regular ‘Rejuvenation sessions’ for local women leading up to, and after childbirth in a very relaxing and friendly environment.

During the session, you will receive very gentle massage, designed specifically for pregnant women and learn simple relaxation techniques that can also be practiced at home. There will be complimentary tea, coffee and healthy snacks available throughout the session.

“The relaxation technique learned at the Rejuvenation Centre, helped me to remain calm during most of the labour (almost!) The birth of my son Samuel took 10 hours and was an easy delivery.

I only had one fear remaining: I was concerned about post-natal depression, as I have suffered from depression in the past, and I was scared that those feelings would all come flowing back.

I can now say, that even during the most challenging times at home (no sleep, a crying baby, a kitchen full of washing up and a partner working late most evenings) that I never fell back into depression, not once. Every time I felt low, I told myself that this was negative and not useful. I would then force myself to think in a positive way and used every possible free moment to relax. I now use these techniques in every part of my life. With time, any challenge, any difficulty, is eventually turned into a positive learning experience as opposed to a problem I can’t solve”

“I now have a beautiful baby daughter called Jade! During my pregnancy, I came to the Rejuvenation Centre every day, and used the relaxation techniques I’d learnt as often as I could at home. Particularly during the last few weeks, when I was absolutely huge, I felt like Rejuvenation was my life-line, and coming was a essential part of my daily routine. To this day, I am extremely grateful for the constant support and all the things I’ve learnt about health and lifestyle and I would recommend all new mums and future mums to come along”
